In the Adventures of huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, the author depicts the protagonist as picaresque. huck is a picaresque figure because he is adventurous, witty, and alike because he is a dishonest, but appealing character. The author shows huckaback?s adventurous side early in the allegory when huckaback and Tom decide to come in their own gang. ?We?ll start this isthmus of robbers and call it Tom Sawyer?s cluster . . . whichever boy was locateed to kill that person and his family must do it, ad he mustn?t eat till he had killed them and hacked a cross in their breasts, which was the sign of the band.? (43). By using the pig?s blood, huck is tooth root his adventure by faking his death after he runs by from home. Huck is perceived to be dishonest and manipulating, and at the same time appealing to other characters in the story. Huck understands how he can deceive people into helping him.
